Self-Funded PhD Studentships:

All Applicants are required to provide evidence of funding - tuition fees, bench fees and living costs and if from overseas an IELTS 6.5

Funding

To study in my laboratory student require funding for 3-4 years.  International student PG registration fees is approximately £27'800 (full time, 2023 fees).  An additional bench fee is required to cover specific costs such as attendance at conferences, access to specific instrumentation, high-value consumables etc. This will vary according to the nature of the project being undertaken but is typically in the region £10,000 per annum.  PG students also require subsistence funding to cover living cost during laboratory work and during your thesis writing up period.  This is approximately £20'000 per annum for a single person.
